Hi there

when things go wrong as they sometimes will, when the road you’re trudging seems all up hill

when the funds are low and the debts are high, and you want to smile but have to sigh

when care is pressing you down a bit, rest if you must but do not quit

success is failure turned inside out, the silver tint of the clouds of doubt

and you can never tell how close you are, it may be near when it seems so far

so stick with the fight when you’re hardest hit, it’s when things go wrong that you must not quit.

It’s been a funny old 12 months and I haven’t done much with the site to be honest. Losing Solo has been very difficult to deal with. It’s at these times you realise who your friends are and it has reinforced how blessed I am with my family – human, horsey & animals. It’s time to look up again and I’m lucky and grateful for the support and lovely people in my life.

So with this in mind, I’ve spent the past few months re-evaluating things, where I am up to, where I’m going etc, etc, etc. The conclusion I’ve come to is that I’m in a pretty good place all in all & the balance in my life is good!

Andy and I have re-vamped the website & I have a course coming up in late March – check out the ‘Up coming events’ page! Would be fab to see you there.

Take care & hope to see you soon

Happy New Year! Hope you all had a good time. We did!!! Solo and Jasper are doing well and coping ok with the snow—had to get Solo an extra under-rug as she was feeling the cold a bit but is doing great now.
Some sad news, Walden our guinea-pig died on Boxing Day very suddenly. Guinea-pigs are notoriously brave and its often difficult to pick up any signs of illness as they are pray animals and just keep going. We miss him loads and Essence is too, the Reiki seems to be helping and Gina one of our cats is spending time sat by the hutch with her in the conservatory.
We’re having an Introduction to Reiki at Touch Canine Centre on Saturday 30th Jan, 10am to 4pm if you fancy joining us:

Introduction Day
connection with the animals & people in your life?

Hi there! Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you’re ready for the festive season! Was in Derby on Weds with Learning to Listen to look at their future plans with some really interesting folk, it was a good day.
The Reiki Two course was fab! Everyone enjoyed it and we have a lovely picture of Kiri, a Red Setter who volunteered for a session with us, she is an inspiring soul—is totally blind but doesn’t let that stop her in the slightest! She loved the Reiki and I think she is a real healing soul in her own right! Will get the photo on when Andy can give me a hand!
Am looking forward to catching up with some friends and am off work for 2 weeks so Amelia, Andy and I have some nice things planned!
Take care and hope you have a lovely festive season

Hi there,
Been really busy few weeks! The waterhole rituals are going fab and Jasper surpassed himself today by following me round the field and various obstacles I’d put out—Solo looked on as if to say it’s all rather entertaining but slightly beneath her!

Solo & Jasper
They both had really good reiki sessions afterwards—check out the photo of them looking totally chilled after the session, I thought Solo was in danger of falling over she was so relaxed!

Tillie & Simba
Met some gorgeous dogs this week, Tillie and Simba who had some great positive reactions to their Reiki sessions.

Ruby
Also been looking after Ruby, a beautiful cat all week and she has had some reiki as she was on her own as her humans were on holiday. She was like a sponge, absorbing the energy and by the end of the week was climbing on my knee and settling there for ages! She was found in a supermarket car park in a bad way before she was ‘rescued’ by her current humans—she certainly landed on her feet with them and has the life of riley now! She is such a star!

Jessica
Jess is Mum’s latest rescue dogs. She’s quite old and her muscles are very weak. She had her first reiki session a week ago and she lapped it up! Here she is with Amelia a few days later enjoying a stroll! Big strides forward for Jess and Mum reported she has even started walking with the other dogs now and attempted a run barking at a dog on the field a few days ago! You go Jess!!!

Have arranged to run a Reiki One & Animal Reiki course in October & am really looking forward to that. Hopefully planning further courses for the new year so watch this space!

A big thanks to Ang from Tailwaggers Training Club for inviting me to their club at Touch in Harrogate—it’s a fab place! I’m looking forward to working with them in the future—will get their details on the Links page asap. If you’re into dogs, then this place is definitely worth checking out.

Signing off now, Amelias first day at Nursery school tomorrow so am rather nervous—she’s fine and can’t wait!

Happy Trails

Hi there,
Busy and exciting week this week! My brain box brother got his GCSE results on Thursday……… 1 B, 7 C’s & 2 D’s!!! Well done bro! Here’s a picture of Luke (he’ll not be very impressed with me for doing this but hey ho!)

The second’s a rare picture of me, mum & Amelia (both mum & Luke are camera shy so this will really please them!!!)

Meeting with an old friend in a few weeks who runs a dog behaviour training place to discuss how reiki could help some of her clients so will let you know how we get on.

Jasper and I are continuing well with the waterhole rituals—Solo joined in today too! Spent some time just hanging out with them today after their reiki sessions, Jasper was so calm and gentle afterwards whilst Solo seemed to be revitalised and back to her cheeky self! It’s amazing how different they are and how the react to the reiki.

We’re in the process of re-vamping the site to include some pics and make it less wordy, it’s amazed me how many pics we’ve got and how I don’t like any of me!

Take care & Happy Trails

‘There is no set path……just follow your heart!’

Wow, what a month! A big thank you to everyone who has visited the web-site. Things have been really busy with us recently– Jasper and I have been back to Learning to Listen near Masham (check out their web site www.learningtolisten.co.uk , its an inspirational place). We went to do one of their Warrior leadership programmes for 5 days, and then Alex and I worked with Jasper in the evenings. You can check out our progress on their blog, its very technical and they are able to put videos on with a ‘flip’ thingermyjig! (the above quote was on my card given to me at the end of the course and I’m aspiring to do just that!)

The leadership programme really made me think about things and brought up some issues from the past I thought I’d dealt with (but clearly not!). My aim with Jasper was to be riding him by the end of the week (now he’s been declared sound by our vet). After 3 days though, it became clear we’re not ready and the trust isn’t there to the level I think we need to get to before we tackle riding (more my issues than his I think, but I want to get it right for him too). We spent lots of time looking at trust between us and I even ended up crawling under his belly by the end of the week (Sarah was on hand to capture it on the ‘flip’ too!). We’ve started looking at the Waterhole rituals by Carolyn Resnick– truly inspirational stuff! It’s all about working in partnership with horses at liberty to truly trust each other and work together – I’ll let you know how we get on with it.

Solo was unwell for a few days last week but I’m glad to say is back to her old self! She was accidently given unsoaked sugar beet nuts by the blacksmith who thought they were pony nuts. The result was 24 hours of real discomfort and pain as the nuts had to dissolve in her oesophagus and her body’s reaction was to produce excessive saliva to break them down. I’ve never seen anything like it from a horse, it was like she was constantly being sick from her nose and mouth and every 30 mins or so, she took a sharp intake of breath like she couldn’t breath properly due to a spasmodic pain. The vet said horses can get very distressed and I gave her reiki which she lapped up, she was so brave and incredibly calm throughout it all. 24 hours later she was back to her normal self!

Andy’s been scanning all our old photos into the computer lately, so I’ll leave you with my favourite photo of me and Gemma.

Well, am back to work in the real world tomorrow so should really go and get sorted– not even sure where my work bag is!!!

Take care
